I am a political scientist and my research explores the politics of private sector regulation, with a focus on energy- and resource-wealthy economies.

I am currently a research fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and the director of the Energy Policy Program at the American Consumer Institute.

My research has been published in journals such as Global Policy, Central Asian Survey, and The Journal of the Middle East and Africa, and cited in The Economist and several Nigerian daily newspapers. I have also testified as an expert witness before Congress on energy issues.

I received a Doctor of Philosophy in Politics from the University of Oxford, a Master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University, and a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Land Economy from the University of Cambridge.

On this website you will find my academic publications and policy papers, as well as a collection of public documents that are difficult to find. My policy commentary and op-eds are collated on my Twitter profile. To get in touch, please email me.
